Really?
Look man, I will be the first person to say the new POTUS has some issues. But I will also say that he has done some things that the Cowboy didnt. But handing out lab coats to doctors who have dressed for the occasion isnt one of them. Foreign policy gets tough when you cant manage your house.

September in August
So its not nearly time yet, but I think that I can safely say that your Milwaukee Brewers season is over. At 10 and 1/2 games out of the division, and over half that out of the wild card, we can say goodnight. Here are some good points to an otherwise shitty season.
The Prince.
This guy has shown that he is not just a masher. Better OPS, and on pace to break his personal RBI record, Fielder has shown that he can hit and should hit for a lot of years. Throw in the fact that he leads the bigs in RBIs and you have a great DH in the AL. Under contract through next year, I would expect to trade him for prospects. Preferably pitching.
The Hebrew Hammer.
Though he is not slugging his way to a second ROY trophy in three years, this guy is and will be a beast. As one of only a couple Brewers to consistantly produce this year, you can only say that he is living up to all of the potential everyone thought he had. His contract is a faily low dollar amount, and he like being BMOC in the Brew City. Hello new Robin.
YoGo.
Finishing what he started in 07, this guy should be locked up right away. He works fast, throws strikes, and hits the occasional homer. What else can you say? Young pitchers like him dont come along all that often. Yes, he has issued a bunch more walks than the rookie season, but look at the K numbers. Enough said. He just needs to get deeper in games more often. And pitch less walks. See how I did that there, thats a joke.
40 year old tween.
Best player in baseball not on steroids. You know that when the Onion writes an article about you, they have to be right. The guy is old, and having the best season of his carreer. This season in Milwaukee, he defines clutchiness. He will make a lot of money next year, but not with the home team. Its really too bad.
Coffey like women.
Effective and consistant. Who wouldnt want this guy filling up the eigth, and maybe the seventh too, this year? And at 28, he is pretty young as far as good pitchers go. He has an ERA under 3 even after 5 months of baseball, and he is not a closer. Thats not too shabby. As a free agent after the season, I would give him 3 mil for three years. Afterall, its the only good java you gat at the ballpark.
Fat third baseman.
Yes, I said it. He makes all of us with a few extra pounds to spare think we can be good at something sometime. Sure he misses some routine plays around the bag, but come on. This is the #5 hitter of the future people. The guy is making 400,000. His kid has cerebral palsy. He deserves the money. But really, he can play third, second, probably first, and maybe the outfield. And he hits home runs.
Thats all I have in me right now. Maybe more later...

Easy Pickins
Haven't done this in a while for multiple reasons. This isn't one of them...
Why does the daily rag offer this up as a reason to print(online)? With the paper letting go multiple writers why is this something to write about? I would think that a band of monkeys could write a title and let the commentariat say what they thought. They can pay the monkeys cigarettes. Everyone loves a smoking monkey. They do pay a full time food critic by the way.
Welcome to the future of journalism. Don't you think that some of the people who were fired would have been happy to go out to ask people about who has the best bread? They would have a job at the very least. And that's not even my problem with this...
3 readers, I ask you a question. Maybe more than one question. Do you go to an eatery for the bread? And if you do, why do you order food from the menu? Do you go to a restaurant because you think that the free bread, or other free shit, is the best part?
But back to the fish wrap. This has become a mainstay of these cats. Here are some examples in link form. I will admit that it is an easy way around paying people. But I would like an article, written by a person, to tell me what I should think.

AAAA
The reason I use 4 of the A's is because there really isnt a replacement. That is, someone who will not give up a shit ton of runs without recording an out. Everybody's favorite darkhorse for a breakout season has been pu...sent down. But unlike Barbaro, I hate seeing that, he will not be shot in front of thousands of people on TV. Back to the 4 A's. A 4A player is one who does well enough at Triple A, but went sent to get a cup of coffee, does not pan out. Former Brewers include Ben Hendrickson. So who are the options...?
The first is obviously Seth McClung. While not the 4A I am talking about, he seems the best suited for the job. The problem with that is the hole it makes in the bullpen. Who do you bring in when it is the 4th and you need a guy to go more than 1? Charlie V, not the Buck playing for a contract, has been used a lot. When it hits the dog days of August, he will be tired, and will not play well if he is the only long guy. Bad things happen when the bullpen is tired, and the bullpen gets you to the playoffs. So we have these guys...though I am not an expert.
This is the guy I would get up in a hurry. Tim Dillard has played well in Nashville, and with those numbers, you would expect a 4.5-4.8 ERA as a starter in the bigs...conservativly. Better than ManPar's 7+, but not great. And would most likely tax the bullpen the same way.
Who they did bring up is this guy. Chris Narveson has done decent out of the pen in Nashville. Lots of innings, good B/K ratio. And since there are a bunch of off days, it says that there will be a bulpen start in the future. More bullpen tax.
This guy has been up before, and done well. Mike Burns in 4 innings in the bigs has been decent. And with the AAA record, has shown that he can get AAA players out. Once again, lots of innings and good K/BB. He can start, but also fill in for one of the bullpen starts previously mentioned. Not to mention the WHIP is pretty good...meaning great in the minors for a starter. So we go deeper...
There have been cases where the team has had a need, and brought up a AA player for a spot start. See Chris Saenz. 1 and done. I was at thiat game. AA options are...
Since number one pick Jeremy "I get high to enhance my performance by ripping bongs" Jefress is not at all ready, we have one good option. Chris Cody maybe? Why not...? Numbers good. Pitch count good. And we dont know his name, which is always a good thing.
All in all, with days off as the original article said, 1 start is needed on the 27th. With off days any of these guys can at least do some damage to an opposing line up. Dont you think?

The Program Is Good
Today, when Macha did not but in the ninth, I was OK with it. You see, when you have a plan, and stick with it, odds are it will work over time. Yes, it failed today but will work over the course of a 162 game season. Remember...marathon ladies, not sprint. 1 loss will not hurt you until September, and taking 2 of 3 from Hotlanta, aka the dirty south, will not hurt.
Obviously there are other factors at play. Manuel the suck Parra pitched another gem. I have talked about him in the past. And while I wont think about that, let us look at the relief stylings of one Charlie V. Not the Buck who played for a contract. Overuse is the key here. I know that he may be the best unknown releif pitcher in baseball, but stringing him out there for three days in a row is bad. Yes he can pitch multiple innings, and yes he came up as a starter. Hastnt everybody? He most likely was tired, and with other options in the pen, was not the best choice. Give the a guy a pass for a bad day, and he will surley make you happy you did so.

Beginning of an Era?
According to Brewers Guy, Bill E. Hall will be riding the pine for the weekend series in Atlanta. Thus completing the Hall experiment and the beginning of the Mat Gamel experience. Good move. I didnt like to see Gamel rotting away on the bench while Hall was showing all of us what it really means to try hard and fail.
Thats pretty bad. And I will happily give up a few air mail parcels to first in favor of someone who actually knows how to hit.
Note to Bill E. Hall apologists out there: Do you think that he has been given a fair enough shake, what with moving all over the diamond the past couple years? Doesnt matter. He has sucked for 2 months, and letting a #1 prospect waste away is a federal offense at worst.
In recent weeks, Hall hasn’t hit righties or lefties. He has five hits in his last 59 at-bats (.085).

Painful
Watching Manny Parra pitch is like rubbing one out with a cheese grater. Slightly amusing, but mostly pretty agonizing. After striking out the side in the first, I said to myself that he looked as good as he had all season. I should have knocked on wood. With that patented deer-in-the-headlights look on his face, he gave up 2, 3, and 5 runs in consecutive innings. Wow. I dont think Soupcan has done that yet this year, and going into the season, everyone thought he would have been the one to do it.
The problem seems to be that as soon as a runner gets on against him, he loses it. Flat out gone. He apparently has the "stuff" to be a great pitcher, but the whole million dollar arm 10 cent head thing is happening. I can begin to think of a way to get him back on track, because runners are going to get on against him wether or not he gets sent to the bullpen or even to AAA. Im not saying I am giving up on him, because he is pretty young and like I said, he has the "stuff." If by stuff you mean a giant bag of suck in his back pocket.
And even if he was demoted or sent down, who replaces him? McClung? With the bullpen as overtasked as it is with Suppan, Looper, and Bush already, you probably dont want to have one of your middle releivers pitching 5 innings and turning the game over. It would be even harder to keep those arms fresh and ready if that happend. There isnt much in AAA either. Sure, some of the numbers are decent but remember that it is mostly against players not good enough for the bigs but good enough to have a job. Trade? I doubt that Mustache is willing to give up either more money or more prospects for a frontline type of starter. I really dont want to hear more of that Peavy crap, though it would be nice. Maybe there needs to be more fighting in the dugout.
The truth is, you cant give up on the arm he has, but it is getting really hard sticking with it after the gem of a season he has put together so far. Now back to my cheese grater.

Nothing to Say
If you had not noticed, you're Milwaukee Brewers have been making quite a name for themselves. 11 of their last 12, and 7 strait. Happens that on the post game deal they do, they are talking about the Milwaukee Bucks and how they did in the NBA draft lottery. Fuck those guys.
Anyway, back to the issue. No links, just yelling.
Ironically I waited on Geoff Jenkins right after his thumb injury. He was having the best season of his career. It was sad. He said, in some sort of non-Wisconsin accent, "My thumbs broke man." Rickie Weeks just lost the rest of the season to a wrist injury. The best season of his career to date. These things dont matter much except for the fact that I am not panicking. i) the fact that Jenkins is a bum, and ii) for the fact that 1 hitter can be replaced. Not to say that C squared can make up for the power numbers that Weeks had or his crazy speed. Only to say that there are 2 hitters on the 25 that can make up for all of that. Going without saying is the pitching.
Despite what people say, and have said myself, the pitching is and has been good. Since the onslaught that is Trevor Hoffman, the pen is lockdown. There have been a number of pitchers to contribute. Most notably this DeFelice character. Who throws one pitch better? Mariano Rivera. Villanueva is showing why he is the best releiver we have on the team besides the Hells Bells(I hate AC/DC) and there are 2 hard throwing guys who are pretty good, as well as being able to throw multiple innings. After the 7th, they have been plenty good. One of the better staffs, in terms of WHIP, in the league. Look it up.
What I am really talking about though is the lineup. The picture of Braun and Gamel in the dugout on TV, after Gamel's tater, was a good one. Can you imagine a 3-4 hitter lineup with thse 2 guys for the next 10 years? Thats 80 home runs(projected) from 2 players. Think about it. Yes, he made the shittiest throw to first ever seen by baseball, but the bat should take care of those problems. And defense is learned unless you are Ozzie. Look at Braun in left...
All is well ladies. Yes...over 162 games, teams will have difficuties. And small samples rarely prove to be worth the price of rice in China. So there will be a time when hits dont fall and outs are not made. Remember Bull Durham. But wait for it...be pacient...and regardless of recent perfomance, Suppan is a 12 million dollar a year mistake...look at the numbers and you cannot deny the good shit.

The Good Shit
So Daddy got himself a new machine. I have Windows Vista disks of anyone wants them as I will not be using them...And I have XP disks as well. FireFox made it easy with the bookmarks, and the keyboard is the same as the one I have at work. Further making me the automaton that the office job tends to require. Work all day to come home to the same damn thing.
The best part is, I dont have all of the problems with porn that I used to. Not morally that is to say, but functionally.

Want to Hear the Most Annoying Sound In the World?
No, not this, but Mocking Bird can be your Cinco de Mayo celebration. The most annoying sound in the world is actually this. Whats that you say? The internets make no sound? But you already know, intuitively, what it entails so imagine.
"I know that I just want to play at a high level. I know I can play at a high level. Plus if I come back, I get blowjobs from John Madden."
Because you know the old bastard isnt far behind. Anyway. Here is what I liked from the article.

"he never anticipated the Jets would release him after drafting Mark Sanchez"
I was under the impression that he(Noodles) had asked for his release?
Thanks for the accuracy ESPN.
Look...Ive said it before, and I will say it again now. Maybe he is the best that ever was. His Hobbsian, the Roy kind, ascent to football greatness is what I will tell my grandkids about. But the continuation of the melodrama that is so noodleicious as this is insane. Sure the writers will love him, like they always do. And sure the announcers will fawn about his gunslingerness. But what about the fans? Though I dont much care for football unless it wins me money, and lord knows it hasnt recently, I am a genuine Favre fan. He made me watch Packer games. But now he has simply been cut off from the football mind of edgrimly. Except to make fun of him of course. I can only hope that the rest of Packernation feels the same way. And if I see you wearing a Vi-Queens Favre Jersey, I will act like I will kick your ass to the best of my ability.
..."requested his release some time ago"... "He has not indicated any desire to return to football and he remains retired. We wish him the best."

Further Explanation
So let me explain the below post a bit better...I left my house at around 1030am yesterday thinking that I was going to go to my job to get some shit done, since I had a rough week with a lot of stuff I didnt get taken care of. When I got there, I decided that I was not working on Saturday. So I got on 43 north for no reason. As I got a bit of the way out of the city, I decided that I would go to Manitawoc to see the WWII sub they gt there. When I got to the museum, they were doing some veterans thing, and I didnt want to intrude on. When I looked at my map, I saw I was pretty close to Elkhart lake. I called up my friend, he will be called Molester, and told him that I was coming by to say hello. As he bought a restaraunt/bar there that I have yet to see. Thinking I would be there for about an hour mind you, and then continue driving somewhere. When I get to town, he says "Wow Dick(affectionatly of course) Glad you are here, I need a host for the night." I said the first two words that came to mind. Fuck and no. He than told me that I was working for him but would be bartending in the basement bar. Which I could handle. So I shook off the booze slanging rust and busted out the old skills. Good times.
After we closed up, we went to Molester's house and had an afterbar. After everybody went to bed, I remained awake as I was not nearly as dunk as the rest of them. The brother and sister that I was hanging out with insisted that the place was haunted. Beng the sceptic I am, I called bullshit. So they took me down into the restaraunt to listed for the ghost noises. Anyway, long story short, we were down there until around 530. I went to bed and woke up around 9. Still drunk. I made it home by 1030 this morning and went to bed. I am now awake and still hammered and thinking about having a beer.

Extreme Much?
I came across this one this morning. Basically, he is saying that the news media would be vilifying the current Pres if he was a member of the GOP. In theory, to me, this is a good idea. The problem I have with this article however is that it takes all of the wack job, non-run-of-the-mill democrats and uses them as proof. Keith Oberman and Chris Mathews do not, I would like to believe, make up the majority of the party. Just like the Factor and Limbaugh dont necessarily make up the majority of the right. I am sure, given the ambition, I could try and fail to find some examples of the gentler sides of the political spectrum. Unfortunately, there is a ball game on.
Speaking of politics, did you chumps watch the thing with the Pres on TV last night? All was going well until the dude fron the NYT asked that lame ass hippie question about being enchanted. I am sure that they could have found a better journalist to ask a better question than that. Shit, hearing about his new dog would have been better.
Then there is this guy. Whatever gets you reelected to the same money grubbing mongrels that you associate with I guess. I blogged about this dude before. Yet another one trying to cling to his granted authority. Like I said. Whatever works pal.

Long and Hard
Since the last one was so long and difficult to understand, here is what I meant. Look, during the week, it is tough to get past my news reading and hooker killing. Thats why I dont post. My brain is spent. It makes Sunday Ideal.
Here is something to once again fall asleep to.
Dire Straits but in a different generation, and for the people that dont know their best tune.
I dont like pussy-footing around the issue.
I agree with 1 of three
Dont forget that it will all be OK.
Good luck ladies, and may your week be bountiful. Every day is an adventure. (top 5 ever tune)
Sleep well, as knives dont sleep.

Baseball Related
I know that everyone knows this. ESPN needs to pay more attention to the rest of the league. And this is coming from a Yankees fan. While in the tavern last night, I remarked to Chopper that they have been playing the same shots of the Yankee v Red Sox game without spending time with their other big league brethren. That is fucking lame. I say again that is fucking lame. LA spends a lot of money and are good. But we are the four letter network. We only care about 2 teams. The game on Sunday night is cool as again I am a Yankee fan, but taking 2 hours of my time on the two teams before hand is once again fucking lame.
How about that rant for F-Bombs. Anger is good.
Enough. Lets look at the team that really matters... Your Milwaukee Brewers almost swept Houston for the first time today. Without Neddy Bear, there really isnt anything to bitch about...be honest. But here are some notes to think about.
Manny Parra is a headcase. Not along the same line as Milton Bradley, as Parra is not an asshole. He just tries to be too cute with his pitches. He could get through the opposing lineup twice with a fastball alone but tries to throw too many pitches on the corners. He needs to start to have confidence in his stuff. IE, become a pitcher and not a thrower.
Mike Cameron is having a decent season so far. And he his not striking out...as much. Off topic-the team is not striking out as much. Is this the result of the hitting coach? He was not a good major league hitter. Anyway...He is taking pitches, hitting dingers, and playing the center field that he is paid, albeit too much, for.
Jeff Suppan despite 2 decent starts is still a bum. Enough said.
Dave Bush seems to be benefiting from a beard. Though he most likely will taper off of his torrid pace as a stater, it is good to have him around. A dude I work with will give me shit about saying that tomorrow. Bush and Looper have become the de-facto aces of the staff, and as long as Yovani and these two keep it up, good things will happen.
I could go on, but this is all my hungover mind can do right now. Ryan Braun is starting to find it, and the offense knows it. They probably will not make the playoffs but they will give the Cubs and the Cardinals a run. The thing is, it is early. Ask me again at the end of May and I will probably tell you different.
Non Baseball.
T squared, for the first time, did not ass-fuck the team this year in the draft. Sure he gave up some picks, but when was the last time he traded up. Two words. Fucking Never. Moving to the 34 defense requires specific players. It is not difficult to play, in fact it may be easier that the 43, if you have the right players. Better to take 2 defensive players rather than 1 offensive one. Unofficial off the record guess...10-6 and a loss on the first round. But at least it is better than last season.
Since we are off the record, here is what Daddy is listening to, and who should be on MTV instead of some shitty fake crap.
For the record they, Green Day, are good, but in the last 10 years have been playing to a 2 faced audience. But whatever works I guess. The same as these guys. The sweet zombie jesus like good punk rock.

Twice in One Day
So I had a brush with mans greatest tool twice in one day. First, as I am walking to my car in the morning, I noticed a dumpster fire. So I do the good and call the authorities. They show up after nervous employees in the restaurant where the fire was muttered their various "oh shits." The fire dept came, and put the fire out, but blocked me into my parking lot, making me about a half hour late to work.
Karma went my way around noon today however, when all of the loose scrap paper in the plant behind my office lit up. The alarms went off, and like normal red blooded Americans, we lolly-gagged out the door. The alarm goes off often enough that this is completely acceptable. As we all sauntered out the door, it really did smell like fire. Than we noticed the smoke billowing from one of the dock doors. If you have never seen this, it is really bad ass. To see the charred remains of a bunch of cardboard hauled off to landfill is pretty cool too. Needless to say, I got about an hour and a half off in the middle of the day.
Have you had a brush with death twice in one day during your lazy ass time off buddy?

Church
So...Yet another Wisconsin Winter is pretty much over. How do we know this? Because Brewers baseball is starting back up at home in Milwaukee. A woman I work with jokingly asked if I took today off to go to church. I guess if you consider the bar an alter, beer the sacrificial wine, and giant flat screen TVs the priest, then yes I am going to church. I wont bore you with useless predictions about the season or anything like that. Just know that I plan on getting real drunk. Happy opening day!!

The Bums Have Lost Mr. Jenkins
In baseball related news, Jenks was set free by the Phillies. He should now be able to find work as a professional golpher, which really was his true passion all along, what with all of those low inside breaking balls he was prone to swing at.

Thanks For Messing It Up For the Normals
While I am at it, what the fuck is this? I like my dishes clean. And I dont like hippies. But if it takes more water, what is the difference?
Isnt this the age of the crazy tech breakthroughs that solve all of our problems? Isnt there an "eco-friendly" solution for these phosphates that pollute the lakes and rivers? Nonetheless, I am pretty happy that I have a Lichtenstinean midget to wash my dishes for me.
has taken to washing his dishes on his machine's pots-and-pans cycle, which takes longer and uses five gallons more water.

Because I Do Not Post Enough
What do you think of when you hear "Miss Universe" and "Guantanamo Bay" in the same sentence? Well, its a "loooot of fun" of course!! Although I can get behind the use of hot chicks to raise the moral of the marines, what kind of an article is this?
I can let you think on your own on that one. Or how about this...
Lots of people have a lot of reasons why this place should be shut down. Really, I dont care about all of that. The fact that you would put something on a national news wire that says grand things about a prison, whatever and wherever said prison is, is a bit messed up.

We also met the Military dogs, and they did a very nice demonstration of their skills. All the guys from the Army were amazing with us

Day of Days
Yes, I get up this early for work. And since I am working all day today before getting mind-numbingly drunk, here is something to tide you over on the best holiday not called my birthday.
UPDATE 12:07pm I had to leave the local because some shitfaced cock-wallet in a shirt and tie bumped me one to many times and spilled my whiskey. May the wind be at your back...

So in my new found internets capability, I ran into this one. Sure hes old, sure he doesnt update the score, outs, or other needed parts of the radio broadcast. But he is one of the best. I would put him up there with Scully and Harwell, though I have never really heard those guys. And, he has 2 robot hips. Bad Ass.

I hate Existentialists almost as much as hippies.

A popsicle comes to mind.

I Will Never Say Something Like this Again
"Derrick Turnbow should be traded for a bag of baseballs."
For fear that Mr Turnbow's delicate sensibilities will be damaged to the extent that he returns to his life of drug and alcohol abuse, later overdosing on numerous different drugs. Wait...maybe in his(Turnbow's) case, I can make an exception.
"People are like, 'I'd kill myself' and stuff," Odom said at the time, dismissing any such notion..."

Try Lowering Ticket Prices
I came across this one this evening. Here are a few tips I thought of that may help...
1) As the title suggests, lower ticket prices. Right now, I can find the money that represents a pretty large part of the dollars coming in to these NBA teams. Fourth level tickets to a Boston v. OKC(the worst team in the league), at Boston, are about $77.00. Thats the fourth level. the nose bleed seats as they say. "But wait edgrimly, these are tickets for a premier team." That is correct. How about a match between OKC and Sacramento(another one of the bad teams.) $68.50 in OKC. That is again level 4. Try taking your family of 4 to these games, what with food and all, its a pretty big deal.
2) Stop paying millions of dollars to 18 year old children. Sure all of that money at the clubs is "stimulating" the economy. This is what rookies got paid in ought 7. Its probably more now. Paying a kid out of high school that much money is wrong on so many levels. But we're doing our best to talk the economy of the game here. Granted, in the NBA, rookies can make or break a team. See LeBron. But for one of these first 15 teams that are borrowing money, does it make sense? Granted, these salaries by no means are larger than MLB, but at least baseball has had a resurgence in the past couple of years thanks to steroids.
3) Take a tip from NCAA and play real basketball. There are a couple of teams that I could name that play real team basketball, and have for the last few years. San Antonio. And Detroit when they were good. Sure, coaches in college make a bunch of money, but they also bring it in to the school. They force their players to play defense, long lost on most NBA coaches, and do much more with much less talent. It may be hard to understand, but basketball is a team sport. Once again lost on most NBA coaches. See AI. Throwing up 30 shots per game is not playing with a team in mind.
Like it or not, this was bound to happen. Football does decent, and their ticket prices are pretty high as well. Baseball has been doing OK, despite AROD and the juice. Shit, even the NHL is making changes to get more money and stay in the black. Like it or not, you had to see something like this coming. You cant fund a national franchise on fancy commercials and shitty product alone. When some players are telling the media that they will go play in Europe for more money, you have issues. The point is, I would like to be a fan. I have been to one NFL game and numerous MLB games. I would like to watch the NBA on TV and not get pissed. But the fact is I do. Too much money and not enough product make it not affordable.
The National Basketball Association will borrow 175 million dollars to serve as aid to teams that might struggle

Sidekicks that Arent Cool
So this is Brewers Guy's sidekick. Hes been around a while at the daily, most recently following high school sports, before becoming a sidekick. Basically, the video is of this DB telling you what articles will be in the paper. Its quite possible that he cares about Ryan Brauns clothes more than he does baseball. Now Ive had my beefs with Brewers guy in the past, but I hope this was the papers call. And the nail in the coffin??? The backwards and sideways winter hat with a brim. You are not hip dude.

Refreshing
Instead of watching chocolate rain over and over this evening, which is the Sunday routine here in the bat cave, I decided to read about baseball. Most notably, this column by the MLB Brewers beat writer. This quote stood out right way.
I will be the first to admit that the save is an overrated stat in todays baseball. But when you have the best relief pitcher in history, you have to use him that way.
The thing that a lot of people like to say is that the bullpen was the downfall of the team last year. I say those people are dumb asses. They had something like the 4th or 5th best bullpen in the NL. That is a fact. But back to the quote...
That is new manager Ken Macha. And it is hardly a Yostian idea. See, Neddy bear had set roles, and set times when he would bring in set releivers. He did not like math, though he claimed to have it on his side. Numbers tell us that bringing in the best relief pitcher you have at the highest leverage time results more often in a win. And since hells bells(I hate AC/DC) wont be played until the ninth, there are a couple options for the new skipper.
The article goes on to focus on one David Riske. Readers of this website may remember my talk of this guy being the future closer(overrated). Well...I have abandoned those words as of last year. But this doesnt mean that the guy is not good. He was hurt, during spring camp, last year. But the numbers do say that he is a good relief pitcher. So behind the Hoffmeister, there are 3 options for good, healthy, long releif.
Not to mention the plethora of short releif options in camp, the pen looks to be better than last year, and we can all rest easy that Greg Aquino will not be serving up grand slams to the best non juiced player to ever play the game(some asshole used AC/DC for this) God I hate those guys.
Anyway, we here at NWIM like the way that the pen is shaping up. Yes I used an acronym because I cant read good. And since baseball generally comes down to pitching, that is a good thing. Not my reading habits, but the bullpen in general.
You might as well put your top guy out there in that inning because the game's on the line then

Say it Aint So
I normally dont read Yahoo! news. There are better places to learn about things. But, while checking my email this morning, there was this headline. "Worst Ever Band Re-forms." I like music, who doesnt? So I was a bit curious as to who they thought the worst bad ever was. Google is even better than Yahoo! So I searched for this steaming crap heap that people called music 10 years ago. Yes, it is true. Chopper owned Twitter(I just bought 10 million shares, so I own you now dude) confirms these people are going to try to give it another go. To be honest, I cant think of a single person that I know that ever liked these assholes. And do you honestly think that, in these trying times, people want to hear lame ass angry music? And do you think that the already angry enough man-scara(emo) bands are going to accept this crap being played next to them? On top of that, I dont think that the world needs more shitty rap metal, when the new rap and metal is all shit as well. But its cool right? After all, he banged Britney Spears. Oh, I forgot...she doesnt matter to anyone anymore either.

Note on a Scandal
I received an email from a buddy of mine who recently fled the midwest for the valley of the sun. Only to find out that he missed sub -20 temps and snow cows.
Hey [name redacted] edgrimly ive been reading your blog and you havent mentioned A-rod yet! WTF dude... i just got done watchn his press conference and im prettyn sickend! he was the first of the golden-players.... the guys that would break the records of the juicers!... anyways he is sooo full of BS..... he told this nice little story about him and his cousin juicing up for "only 30" days. how touching.... it was a family event man! dude i have more respect for recreational drug use because..."man, i just wanted to get high" ... versus...."i wanted a advantage on others that...just maybe...were betterthan me! BS! ....he was the best there was at the time who was close to him in 01,02,03? no one.... sorry you have to read this but im stewing! (too much coffe i bet)...
To which I responded...Think about it like this. You can bet that most players with exploding numbers in the early 2000's were taking something, whether it was banned or not. Based on this, I cant really blame the guy. He was a product of his environment, and enforces the fact that most people in those 3-4 years were "enhancing their perfomance." For example, in college, I sucked at FPS games. Until I got lit like a Christmas tree. Than I would rip people's faces off, in the game I mean. Sure it sucks that the dude was on a non-banned substance at the time, and sure it sucks that he was to be the best that ever was. I was a big fan, even bigger when he went to the Bronx. But even Bonds still has supporters, and you can bet that he will go into that hall, not necessarily on the first ballot. So will A Rod. Thats why edgrimly's favorite ball player ever is Craig Biggio. You know that dude was only powered by bitches and liquor.
