Peanut Butter Jelly Time

So, the golden god of the frozen tundra has made it to yet another pro-bowl. Look, its not that I dislike the guy. He is more than likely one of the top three QBs of all time. And it pains me to keep harping on it. But I have no choice, since pitchers and catchers dont report for like two months. Look at some numbers.

As an aside, since the national media votes for this useless and unwatched game, obviously the one that they have been rubbing off behind our collective backs for years is going to win.

Who would you choose? Only based on 2008 mind you.

A B

C D

Numbers alone folks. And since you bother reading this drivel, you know the answer.

Here is the point. Do numbers matter anymore? If they did, B would be the easy choice. Look at it people. More TDs, less INTs(and I should leave it at that), more yards, and a better rating. Digression, I will never understand QB rating. But lo and behold, arguably the worse of the three, gets the W. Granted, no one cares about the pro-bowl, but can these guys even look at it? Statistics? They are the measure of how things happen right? Who made things happen better? I can think of one NFC QB who did...But we are talking AFC here.

Look, the guy started more games than anyone ever. He holds basically every record in the book. He just plays for another team. I dont hate him for leaving. Really, I dont hate anyone. And both sides of the equation were assholes in the end. I get it. I really do. For fucks sake this guy made me watch football again!! But do we, as fans of Sconi' sports in general really have to accept this? These people who voted for this seem like they dont even pay attention, as its not like the God of the Frozen Tundra is going to go to the game anyway. How many has he missed? Dont know, and am to lazy to look it up. But it is a couple, and those were his golden years.

Anyway, back to the point. I am a fan of Noodles. He is great, and in my mind the greatest. But if this is about performance on the field, he is the loser this time around. Numbers do not lie people. In three years, if he actually retires, this will be an afterthought. And in 8 years when he in in the pantheon of great QBs, it will be even more so. But why now? Sooner or later, the hacks that write columns for pro sports will need to pay attention to fact. That fact lies in numbers, not the winks that so and so gets in the press conference.

Canadians are Bad

I dont like people who make it slow, but this...actually...is good.

The Punk Rockers are rather liberal, despite my leanings, they are still good people.

Non Political

The senior paper was based on this one.

Not the Golden God

Lots of people these days are really quick to blame the loss of one noodle-armed retiree on the woes of your Green Bay Packers this year. Lets look at the numbers.

A-Rodg

Noodles

Better QB rating. What the fuck does that mean anyway? Did you see that math shit? Thats fucking crazy, and un-understandable.

More yards and TDs. Less interceptions as well. Oh, I forgot that the best QB in the history of the game has that record as well.

Make no mistake. I think that Noodles is the best that ever was, at least for the time being. The numbers speak for themselves. I will gladly take those INTs with that many starts. But anyone who blames a shitty season on his loss is an idiot. In the 13-3 season, Green Bay won 9 of the 13 against teams with a below .500 record at the time. This year, they have played and lost against teams with an above .500 record a lot. Not to mention that the defense leaks like a crappy shower head. Early on, the secondary was lights out, but they have begun to look old and tired. See Woodson and Harris. On top of that, AJ Hawk looks like a slow idiot because outside of Kampman, the D line is shitty.

Solution? A Rodg is a good QB. Anyone who tells you different is also an idiot. But the offense is not the problem. Tell the sizzler that he needs someone good on the D line, and maybe 2 people who are good on the D line. I hear that this year is a bad year for the linemen in the draft Teddy boy. That would make the LBs play like they are actual football players, instead of the 2nd string of Green Bay Prebble High School. Add to that a secondary who can tackle without breaking a hip, and there is your winner.

My point is this. All of you people who blame the shitty season on Thompson are correct. Crazy cap room and no real free agents is clinically insane. But...all of you who blame the shitty season on Brett Favre are not at all smart. The schedule and injuries play a part sure, but if you dont have a defense you dont win games. The golden god of the frozen tundra does not play defense, though he does throw a mean block at times.

Please note that at the time of this post, I was not watching the Packer game.

And as a side note, this guy is bad ass.

Pushing a Car Out Of an Icy Grave Is Not Fun

The Thrill is Gone

Yes my friends in Brewtown, the thrill is gone. With the recent news that Carsten Charles will be in pinstripes next year, everyone who breathes baseball and Brewers baseball at that, is doing one of 2 things. One, they are pissed. Or two, they can breathe a sigh of relief. It looks like, according to the article, the Steinbrenners threw in an extra year and more dollar bills. 7 years and 160 mil. There are varied reactions all over the Internets about it, and they range between the above two attitudes. Find them yourself jerk.

Fuck him...he was chasing the money and lied to Brewers nation about not wanting to play in NYC.

Fuck him...he is a greedy bastard.

Eh, I knew it was going to happen, so Im not all that pissed.

Eh, I knew it was going to happen, so whats next.

Number 4 ladies. Number 4. With the exorbant 20 mil per we offered him, 25% of the teams salary I may add, number 4 is the right attitude. Look, I am as angry as everyone. But you have to give credit where credit is due. He took my team to the playoffs for the first time in 26 years. Mostly by himself, what with 11 wins in a Brewer uniform. For that I say thank you and good luck. No hard feelings big guy. I will remember him as one of the better Brewers ever.

On to better things. With that 20, 15 from Sheeter, and 10 from Gagne, looks like Mustache has 45 mil to add. Realistically, that 20 for Sabathia is more like 10-15 as big Mark wont commit that much to anyone else. So we'll call it 30.

Some people would call for locking up the core of talent to deals. But why? Most of them wont be up for Arbitration for at least a couple of years, and there is some minor league talent wating to bust out that would be reasonable replacements. Of the starting 8 I mean. Pitching later, though it is the most pressing need right now.

Hardy, for one, seems like a good candidate for a contract. He is up for arby almost now, and he is one of the better SS in the National League. He is young, and keeps getting better. He still hasnt struck out 100 times in 2 full seasons of ABs. And his SLG keeps going up, not to mention the OBP. The people who want to move him to 3rd for Escobar arent thinking clearly. Hardys HRs dont match the production for average 3bs. Move him to second? His lack of range is hidden, and as a 2b he would be above average for that position.

If Corey Hart were to get his head straight, he wold be another one. If they dont pick up Camerons option, 10 mil for 09, Why not move Corey over? Probably better than Deron Erstad and Juan Pierre. He certainly wont be horrible in the field, but not neerly as good as Cameron. Like I said, if he can get the head right, he could be pretty good at the plate. Pop, speed, good arm, decent eye. Looks like good at baseball to me. But potential still bothers me.

Rickie Weeks has a lot of that. But in a what have you done for me lately business, what have you done for me lately? Score a lot of runs, play a bit better than bad deffense, and suck balls in the 1 spot. The way Im thinking, expendable, assuming JJ goes to 2b. Isnt there a way to package Weeks and Fielder(10 mil for 1 year or more) arby tag for something?

Anyway...Mustache has his work cut out for him. Milwaulee seems to be on a path to the "win for a while" mentality. Replacing the best free agent pitcher in baseball is a tough businesss. Like I said, I will get to pitching soon. Maybe this brief insight will tide you over. If not, piss off as I am tired and need to work early.

But now this "movie" on AMC has my attention. Not really. It is most likely the worst western I have ever seen.

Are You Kidding Me??

What in the name of the sweet Zombie Jesus is this? What filthy hippie came up with this idea? There so many things that can go wrong, I dont really want to think about it anymore. This is not a group of tribes in Siberia, this is where I live. But thats not the best part. The last line in the article is a good cheap shot at my state.

In Wisconsin, could that mean dough that looks like cheese?

Only in the most pretentious, assholish, yuppylicious city in the US would a reputable paper like the Tribune take a shot at their neighbors to the north. But hey, keep coming up here and spending money on our far classier stadium, and our beutiful rolling hills, fucking flatlanders.

Muntaba was enterprising enough to find the hippie behind this lame ass idea.

Random Brewers

So with the signing of "one time future closer to be" Jorge Julio, I figured that it was time to bust out some news on your Milwaukee Brewers.

Julio, who first played for the Montreal farm system, if I remember correctly one of the next big things in relief pitching. Well, the major league numbers dont really say that, but who knows. From the looks of it, he had one good year followed by a bunch of bad and OK years, than a small sample size great time last year. Senor Mustache tried to take a flyer on a washed up releiver once, and look how well that turned out. But to be fair, this guy is getting paid less than 10 mil, 950,000 to be exact, with performance bonuses in there. And he throws hard, which everybody likes. Releif pitching isnt exact, but at least he is cheaper that Gagne.

They also picked up a minor league 1B. Scott Thorman hits real good in the minors. But as far as the big leagues, hasnt produced in a small amount of at bats. He doesnt walk much, and for the most part doesnt hit all that many HRs. But he is a lefty, and once again young, so why not spend a bit of Minor League style money?

Another pitcher. This time a lefty. His numbers down on the farm are pretty decent. And he doesnt have any Major League experience worth noting. Just a shade under 5 innings. The thing about this guy is that he is a left handed batter type of pitcher. Good thing since the Shouse may in fact leave town. His curve ball tops out at 55 according to the article. Thats a big uncle charlie. And according to this guy, he does in fact get the lefties out.

I would be remiss if I did not mention this one. We all know that Sabathia, barring an intervention by the baby Jesus himself, will probably not be back. And the Shouse thing is still up in the are as mentioned. But the good one is Sheets. He pretty much had his best year since 04 last year. 31 starts and he missed a bunch of time. Not to mention he was 3rd in complete games. On the other hand, he has a glass body. Odd injuries, and one real shoulder injury last year, make him fragile. Arby for a year, 15 mil, 3 more than he makes this year? Or a 2 year deal, 12 per, with an option for a third based on performance? His walk per K average is still pretty good. But he still can get guys out, though he walks a few here and there. I say get him on the Arby, and trade him. What say you?

Some Dogs Dont Hunt

Did you cats read this one? Although rumors and conjecture are kinds of evidence, one part of the article stands out to me.
However, Justin Cooper, who edited Mr. Clinton's autobiography, My Life, and has remained close to the former president, said that Mr. Clinton was cautiously supportive of the prospect. "He's always had great admiration for Monica's abilities,"
This may be a bit low brow for a classy place like this, but come on. It sets itself up.

I Would Like to Add...

As per the previous post regarding movies. I would like to add this one, since it is on the comedy channel right now and I cant seem to turn the channel.

New and Improved

Hello ladies. Come on in and sit down. We here at Nice Weather in Milwaukee, have a new feature for you. Have a tasty glass of champagne and watch/listen and we will explain. Since the author seems to bust out large amounts of videos from time to time, we have decided that he should centralize the action. Since he generally tends to say that he "is going back to his roots," we thought that it would be better to restrict him, as he posts the same videos over and over again. So...hopefully he just does this on a weekly basis, with one or two videos, instead of a whole post dedicated to that dreadful punk rock, with the same videos over and over. If not, he will most for sure be sacked, and his 401K will not be valid.

(this is edgrimly talking) Fuck those producers and all of their ideas. Here is some of the best hippy band that nobody has ever heard of. And if you're lucky, some of that sweet down home punk rock you need.

I told you were lucky. I will lock myself in here if I have to. I dont have anything pressing to do anyway.
I dont like Boston, but I saw this dude onetime. He was riding the train.

I always wanted to be the Bosstone. Though I would get tired pretty quick.
And for those of you who remember when they were good.

Fun With Former VP Nominees

So stumbling around the Internets this afternoon, a came upon this one. While they have good articles sometimes, like when Alec Baldwin or Harry Shear write them, they are generally a bit too left for me. Case in point, the post mentioned above.

If you asked me a few months before the announcement of his running mate, I probably would have taken the wild card of saying Palin. That being said, isnt it kind of like beating a dead horse? I know that there are tons of things to pick on about the nice lady, but wait until she does something monumentally stupid, which is bound to happen sooner or later. Otherwise, we will become so desensatized to it, that it will no longer be funny.

On another note...after reading some of the comments...dont these people know that in order to eat most of the sweet delicious meat that comes from animals, they first have to be killed? I mean, bacon isnt born. They guy doing the killing that keeps looking at the camera is really funny as well.

Sense?

This makes no sense. But I would stay out of sector 21 as well. We all know what goes on there.

An ad for something?

I Would Stil Send Him Packing

Though a strong believer in all things Bill James, I have to disagree with his #1 ranking of the Prince as the number one player 29 or younger. Based on right now, as you existentialists like to say, this is true. But baseball is judged in the long term. Guys have unbelievable single seasons, and then go into the tank. Look at Bill Hall. Also, fat guys who mash dont age all that well. And he is only getting fatter, often having difficulty bending over to dig a ball out of the dirt.

This bodes well for the AL team that at some point in his career will inevitably pick him up, hopefully sooner than later, and hopefully for young pitching. But this is Milwaukee people. We play in the non-wuss league, where players like Craig Counsel and Jack Wilson have exuded gameyness since before God, and probably get paid as much. Look at Juan Pierre for the love of pete. I am under the opinion that in order to be a good ball player in the NL, you have to be a good baseball player, using as many of the 5 tools as possible all of the time. There is more to the game than hitting, though it is a pretty big part of it. Look at the chart before the one in question. That looks pretty bad. Even known fattys like El Caballo dont show up in the top, or bottom, ten players. Granted I will take 30-45 homers per year any day, but at the sacrifice of said bending over, or climbing the ladder to grab a high throw, or ranging to the right to get a hot grounder(as you know it is tough for Weeks to get there), or going to third on a single to right.

Fat guys who mash dont age all that well. In a couple more years of NL ball, the knees give out, random muscle injuries happen, and sooner or later walking is a lot tougher than eating. It is tough business playing 1st base every day. Ask Jeff Bagwell. But I digress.

Speaking of the big guy, did you see this one from baseball dude?

With the Cardinals finishing fourth, I voted Pujols seventh on my ballot. I don't consider MVP to be "the most outstanding player" award and therefore don't just go by who had the best stats. I like to credit players for lifting their teams to the post-season or at least keeping them in the race until the very end.

So one team finishes 86-75 because of the offensive prowess of one player, who plays a pretty good 1B by the way. The other wins the division with a 92-70 record because of a whole lineup that can hammer the ball. In fact, I would go on to say that Chase Utley is a better all around baseball player that Howard, despite Howards league leading 48 bombs. He - Utley - plays a decent 2b, and hits for more extra bases.

Now compare Howards line, with that of Pujols. Questions?

But the real problem is, voting Prince over the Hebrew Hammer, Senor baseball guy. If you are going to base MVP voting on hrs alone, like it looks like you did, who wins? Not to mention that fact that Braun was hurt for a big part of the season, and played better over 162 games. To quote an unpopular punk rock band of the late 90s, "I dont know what you've been smoking but pack another bowl for me."

UPDATE: I just noticed that baseball guy posted another one about why he voted the way he did. In his normal way, he was a bit angry at all of the dissension in the ranks.

I choose to not be a slave merely to statistics. If you want to pick the MVP solely on statistics every year, we can hire a statistical outlet to name the winner and just do away with balloting. We can call it "Most Outstanding Statstical Player." And, certainly, Pujols had great statistics, as he always does.

So the measure of how good a baseball player you are, numbers or how you perform, arent the most important thing? Thats like saying that because Anakin Skywalkers midiclorian count was higher than the Emperors, he isnt the chosen one. Or I Iike oranges better than apples because they make me feel better.

Movies that Must Be Watched

So Im sitting here in the batcave, and the Godfather is on. And I gets to thinking, which is scary in itself. There are movies out there that if they are on TV, I must watch them. Commercials and all. Despit the fact that I own most of them, and can watch them anytime.

1. Star Wars. Any of them. All six. Who doesnt want to go to Taschi Station to pick up some power converters anyway?

2. The Godfather. Except the third one. Even without the curse words, the scene where Pacino pops the mick police captain and the rival boss is bad ass.

3. The Longest Day. Come on, even Sean Connery has a bit part. And there is a Scot with a bulldog yelling at people.

4. Scarface. First you get the money, then you get the power, then you get the women. Another quelude, shell be back.

5. Bull Durham. Everybody has to channel their inner lava lizard like Fernando sometimes.

Though I wouldnt call some of them the best movies of all time, they are up there.

Good Night Sweet Prince

"After 21 years, and almost 40 million posts"...One of the better baseball/sports related blogs and it's writers have decided to hang up their respective keyboards as of yesterday. I will pour out a little liquor. After reading them for about 3 years, I think that they may have influenced my opinions about baseball more than any book or movie that I have ever read. To say that the ever consistent grinding, scraping, and gaminess of said Morgan, McCarver, hat guy, and others has won the day would be to trample on all that these cats cared about. Good luck and Godspeed.

Random Offseason Action

It seems that your Milwaukee Brewers have a new manager. If I dig him or not is the question. The question is if he leaves "Bushy" or "Soupcan" in in the 5th with the bases loaded and no outs. Word is he, Macha, was the tool that wielded Billy's idea. I will give him a month before I start to say things that dont really matter.

The option on the Couns was not picked up, but negotiations for a cheaper deal are still going on. This guy does a much better job of explaining the numbers than I can, but it makes a lot of sense. Though I hate to admit it, the sense that is. Dislike so much that I hope a younger version is available. And David Eckstain is bad at baseball.
As an unabashed fan of Craig Counsell, I admit, I'm a bit disappointed that the Crew did not pick up his option for next year. However, I realize that is a lot to pay a reserve infielder, especially one that's about my age and does not possess even a dash of pop in his bat.

However, I am happy they want Craig back, as they said they will try and negotiate a deal with him at a lower salary...Rotoworld on the sidebar guesses about $1.5-2M, which is probably about right. However, when one looks at how little offense the average 2B/SS provides, and then when you figure in Counsell's plus defense at all three infield skill spots, as well as his OBP skills, I would make the argument that Craig may indeed be worth about $3M...especially when you consider that there is little risk in a one-year contract.

Ave 2B---------.340/.409, 749 OPS
Ave SS---------.331/.398, 729
Craig, '08-----.355/.302, 657
Craig, career--.343/.344, 687

No doubt Counsell is below average, but if he wasn't, he'd be a starter somewhere.

Some folks feel Hall may be the main IF reserve next year, and considering his financial commitment, the Brewers may feel they do not have the capability of paying $10M to a pair of reserve infielders, and are looking to go cheap with the 2nd IF backup. Looking at the list of free agents, Felipe Lopez, who Doug has expressed interest in before, is available; as is Dave Eckstein. Both are solid players, but I have to believe both will get $3M or more a season, while providing an OBP number similar to Counsell in '08, with some doubles power.

Once again, someone else does a better job than I. I will bet you a shiny paper dollar that this guy is on the bench come April 1st.

You Want an Issue?

It is things like this that truly piss me off. An anger that I would not wish on anybody. In fact, I am pounding beers right now to make it go away.

That means that through at least spring 2010, Wisconsin will remain the only state in the nation where people caught driving drunk for the first time are treated just like speeders: They get a ticket and pay a fine.

Emphasis mine. For the sweet zombie Jesus' sake. I love my state, and am a big proponent of the "drinking culture." But really, how many people need to get t-boned and die because some asshole had "a few to many."

As far as state politics is concerned, this is what I am concerned with. There are people here who have more than 5, sometimes over 10, drunk driving arrests or tickets, whatever you want to call it. Yet they can still drive. They are still able to drive to a tavern, get shit-faced, and drive home. When the cops pull them over, they take the tests, and are booked. They go to trial, and they plea out so they spend minimal time in jail. They are right back out there...getting hammered and driving.

What is wrong with this picture? Is it so difficult to understand? Where is the flaw in the logic? Or am I wrong in thinking this way? I have a difficult time driving after 1-3 beers, ethically and physically. Not to mention that fact that I fear other drivers on the road more than I fear my driving ability. Afterall, I am a good wheelman.

What I Do While the World Series Is On

So I am watching the world series this evening, go Devil Rays, and an add comes on. It is for some car, but the better point is this...They play the "Space Oddity" by David Bowie. According to my half assed search of the Internets, the song was made in 1969. Now this is a great tune. You cannot deny it. And the fact that a lady is singing it is really cool. I would like to know which lady or group does this version.

But it made me to think about the Elton John tune, Rocket Man. My feeble mind thought that they were made at the same time, so who came first? Dont get me wrong, Rocket Man is one of the few EJ tunes I dig on. But David Bowie is so much cooler because he was in this.

So I wanted to know who followed who. According to
Wikipedia, which has been proven wrong in the past, Rocket Man was made 3 years later but based on a short story. Space Oddity came before, but was a part of the "I like to sing story songs" genre.

So I guess my question is, loyal 4 readers, is which is better? And did Elton John expand, therefore copying a good idea, upon the David Bowie theme? Or did he just think that he could make more money than he already had by singing about space, like the Brit that did it before him.

So I read this article today. I am going to tell you that it does not work. Tried it, failed. Someday I will tell you about the things I do every day to keep me sane. But this is no reflection on the rest of the things that I do day to day. I'll refute that that shit. In fact, Ill do it right now...

Connect
Developing relationships with family, friends, colleagues and neighbours will enrich your life and bring you support

Really, I do think my parents are important, and there are maybe 10 people that I would actually wish well. But all in all, I dont care to know what other people think, and I dont want to hear their ideas or beliefs. Unless they can prove me wrong.

Be active Sports, hobbies such as gardening or dancing, or just a daily stroll will make you feel good and maintain mobility and fitness

I sort of agree, if weekly kickball and boring ass bike rides count. But otherwise, some people just dont like dancing.

Be curious Noting the beauty of everyday moments as well as the unusual and reflecting on them helps you to appreciate what matters to you

There is no way I am becoming that dude from American Beauty. "That plastic bag gets me all choked up." Eat a dick clown.

Learn Fixing a bike, learning an instrument, cooking – the challenge and satisfaction brings fun and confidence

Well...I kind of agree. I learn everyday that people, like it or not, are more capable of lame ass bullshit than anyone would ever think. Those people should see number 1 for advice.

Give Helping friends and strangers links your happiness to a wider community and is very rewarding

This one is OK. I send money to people every year, and sometimes every month. But I also give in other ways. If judging you is the one thing I do well, I am only helping you out right?

So I half agree with 3 of 5, but in a way that makes their points mute. I guess if they recommend these things, they should think about who they are dealing with first. There will be none of this hand holding "we dont like landfill" bullshit here. I would bet that 65% of the populace is angry with this drivel that you put into the Internets, but those of us that actually read things may find your experiments boring and mostly unfounded, and a waste of time.
This is no reflection on my pure unadulterated love of the Internets, just what some people think others should read. New, controversial, or something to further the advance of knowledge in people. Not crap to placate lonely housewives, or househusbands, with things they should already know.

The Theme Music is Good

This one goes out to all you parrot heads out there.

So I have been watching a lot of the
House lately. Mostly because USA is nice enough to play it a lot, like Law and Order. Tonight, they have on the ones where he is slowly getting in trouble with the law. The cop is going at him because he is on pills and House is on drugs while treating people. Other than the fact that the doc is good, the cop is right. But I choose to look at it like this...Brett Favre won a superbowl on pain killers, Chopper kills hookers under the influence of sadness, Muntaba writes well because of anger, and I passed college because I was drunk and stoned for the last 5 years of school. Anyway, I think the cop is just angry. Angry because the doc put a thermometer in his ass, and angry at the fact that the doc is a better doc than the cop is good at being a cop.

This brings me to my point. As my 3, I mean 4, readers know I have been given a promotion. Funny thing is that my former boss and mentor has also been given one. But that doesnt matter. The point of the first paragraph is this. The promotion I got was for a new national acount. They are Canadian. They think that because for the past how many years they were getting screwed out of money, they can jerk me around because we are paying them more. On Friday, these people told me something. Sometheing that made everyone in my office tell that nice lady, my former boss, to take me outside to smoke. This thing that these people said to me is the most important thing in my industry is not important. They seem to think that they are better at my job than I am. Suffice to say that I have only done it for 4 years, I think I am damn good at it, but they are better than me. They seem to think that they can dictate how things work.

I love my job, and unless the New York Yankees need a new GM, I wouldnt trade it. But the point is be careful of what you wish for. Beacause come monday, It may not be alright.

Then there is this.

You Said What?

So the local fishwrap has put out this. Funny thing is, I mostly agree with them. With one glaring fuck up. They have given this guy a better grade than this guy. Wait a minute...A since retired player comes back and gets on a team. He has to play the first month of the season due to a drug violation by the hired gun. Really? Sure he played well in those games, but what? So the JS would rather have Kapler over the guy who hit the most dingers as a rookie in the history of baseball? Granted the Prince will get the money, and the Brewers should trade him now*, but what the fuck. The Sweet Zombie Jesus does not like "Veteran clubhouse leadership" over good baseball. He also has no place for grit, like I have no place for lactose.

*This is a discussion for another day regarding fat guys who hot home runs and how they get worse as they get older.

Also, I am on vacation Bitches, so suck it.

Smut

So it appears that shitty wings and scantily clad ex-strippers bought a place in the city that I went to High School in. Yet another place for people to oogle at women, which is cool, and drink more beer as a result of their pseudo-hotness. What do people do when they drink beer, and eat shitty wings, then get sold more beer by almost hot women and drive home? Welcome to the suburbs. I used to go to Pedro's. They served giant beers. One or two times I drove home when I should not have been driving. I dont need to do that where I live now. Though Hooters does not serve giant beers, I do know they have women wearing all kinds of nothing. When she says "want another beer?" and dudes nod their head only because they are looking at boobs, they will get hammered no question. Driving and hammered dont mix. The grade school point doesnt matter as only degenerates drink a lot on Tuesday afternoon, like the bottle of scotch in my desk. Though there may be 8 year olds running across the road. Point is, shitty wings, booze, and almost hot women in the suburbs dont go together. In fact, bars in strip malls dont go together. Despite the fact that V-Dicks makes a bad ass egg sandwich.

Debatalicious

So I was all in to it a while back. Now...not so much. One walks around dodging questions, and one hobbles around dodging questions. This is not debate. Debate is when 2 people talk to each other in a civilized manor and each give their respective thoughts. Not to mention that the moderator was more concerned keeping time. There is more sniping than real thought. There is nothing that they said that was new, exciting, and maybe just once for once real. Every word out of their mouths was "he did this." There was no "Hey man, why did you do these things?" Mostly because the moderator was once again more concerned with time. The news networks? Totally different. This tells me that their was no winner. I am American, I only care about winners. The last question was probably the best one. Both showed that they are good orators, but which one said anything? Rhetorical Questions are good for these types of things. They both give the same answer. Neither is the answer. Put it this way. I dont want to pay for other peoples debt and loss based on poor decisions. And I dont want to pay for other peoples poor choices when they have kids at 15, or once again poor decisions. Is there a middle to that question? Some sort of idea that applies to both? No sir. Everybody screws up, and I should not be responsible for all of them. Everybody has skellies. Again, no sir. Both of these guys want me to do that. To do both. If presidential politics always drifts to the middle, they are doing a good job of not letting that happen. At least there is always garbage.

This?

This is why we brought him here. Hes a big game pitcher they said. He plays well in September they said. He is worth 42 million dollars over 4 years they said. Do you understand why you dont long term guys who are playing the back nine? So on the promise of one year of LCS numbers, you throw large amounts of money at this guy? Lets take a look at what he has done in a Brewers uniform. In terms of ERA+, he is exactly average over his career. Not bad, but certainly not good. Not the "late season lock" that he was signed for. But looking at that same number for the last 2 years, he is seriously getting worse. I dont have the patience to break it down by month for last year, but MLB.com makes it easy for this season. By my feeble estimation, he had 2 good months. Both of which are not September. Both of which are based on wins and ERA, which are flawed. Look at the strikes v the number of pitches. He never once threw more than 64 strikes, I lied as there is a 65 strike outing in there. And in September, for the Brewers, he never threw more than 60 while lasting an average of less than 5 inings in ought 8. In effect, making him ineffective in Sept. An argument can be made that this is worse than the Jeff Hammonds contract. I have to give credit to that comment to a dude I work with.

A good pitcher he is not. What he does do is eat innings, in a sort of half assed and shitty way. He even pitched less innings than glass bodied Ben and rubber arm Dave Bush. And he gives up a lot of taters. At this point the Soup, its not boos its soup, Is no better than a #5 starter and at worse a long guy in the pen. Shit, on this theory, throw crazy money at Dave Bush, at least he gets Ks. Beacause really its sad, no one will pick up that contract, and you dont pay long guys 10 mil to pitch garbage innings.
